In an effort to create some fresh, relevant 2020 campaign content for the 2020 National Skills Coalition (NSC) Skills Summit, my colleague, Press Secretary Ayobami Olugbemiga, and I (Senior Digital Manager, Comms) traveled to Des Moines, IA, to get a lay of the land heading into the 2020 Iowa Caucuses. NSC provided every member of the media with polling information on the importance of skills training as a 2020 campaign issue, and we used the opportunity to highlight those findings as we toured the Media Filing Center. The video premiered as part of a live recording of the Skilled America Podcast at the 2020 Skills Summit.
The turnaround on this video was short – we arrived in Iowa on Friday (1/30/20) and left Sunday morning (2/2/20), and the video played for the Summit audience on Tuesday morning (2/4/20). I shot all the video on an iPhone 11.
